Dublin City Council has announced the formation of five new Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs) across its administrative areas. This initiative marks a significant shift towards a community-focused safety model, replacing the previous Joint Policing Committees.
The LCSPs aim to bring together residents, community organizations, An Garda Síochána, local services, and statutory agencies to collaboratively address local safety priorities. Over the coming months, these partnerships will engage with the community to develop tailored Community Safety Plans for each area.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, emphasized the importance of this approach, stating, “Community safety is not just about policing.”
Residents are encouraged to participate in upcoming consultations to help shape the safety strategies that will directly impact their neighborhoods.
