Dublin City Council has announced the formation of five new Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs) across its administrative areas. This initiative aims to foster collaboration among residents, community organizations, An Garda Síochána, and various statutory agencies to address local safety concerns.
The LCSPs will replace the previous Joint Policing Committees, aligning with the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024. Each partnership will focus on developing and implementing Community Safety Plans tailored to their respective areas, ensuring that local voices are integral to the decision-making process.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, emphasized the importance of this approach, stating, “Community safety is not just about policing. It’s about people being and feeling safe in their communities.”
Over the coming months, the LCSPs will engage with residents and community groups to identify priorities and strategies to enhance safety and well-being throughout Dublin.
